Dallas County, Texas (District Clerk)
Collections and compliance pioneers. With a population that exceeds 2 million, their County Clerk and staff were and continue to be instrumental in shaping justice collection program behavior across the State of Texas. In 2005, they initially welcomed I-Plow. Recently, the District Clerk contracted with I-Plow to automate their juvenile justice collections and compliance process - they are becoming instrumental in shaping the juvenile process.
Juvenile related justice processing raises numerous challenges.
Unique behavior includes:
In some instances, the juvenile receives direct correspondence. In other instances, only the parent or guardian receives collections-related calls and documents. Occasionally, they both do.
For any juvenile case, shared responsibility for a particular subset of cases assessments can be established:
Split Responsibility allows the collector to characterize a subset of case assessments for which a single individual is directly responsible. If a payment is missed, only one person would receive a call and/or dunning letter.
Joint Responsibility allows the collector to characterize a subset of assessments for which multiple individuals are collectively responsible. If a payment is missed, all people would receive calls and/or dunning letters.
