It appears to be an acceptable practice for software vendors (integrators, consultants, etc.) to over-hype their products and vaporware as they "promise" functionality to elected officials and the user community.  Political pressure can put IT in a compromising position.  Elected Officials often fail to recognize that IT strives to protect the interests of all.  We are aware that IT is routinely under-resourced while being overwhelmed with: support, new projects and additional service requests - we came from this environment.  We recognize that our competitors often focus on elected officials - not the true benefactors.  While IT is positioned to technically qualify the vendor and offer, their recommendation can fall on deaf ears.  This often is a death knell and represents the first step along a long and arduous path to eventual project failure. Along the trail, there will be strained professional relationships, wasted efforts, wasted monies, and more importantly - wasted time.  It can be ugly.  Everyone, but the vendor, apparently loses.

OUR DATA CENTER is located in San Antonio, Texas.  It is biometrically secure and offers the expected range of services: temperature control; humidity control; power protection, etc.  From an access control perspective, the office building is biometrically secure after hours and the internal data center is independently biometrically secure.  It is served by Time WarnerŽ Telecom's Dedicated Transport Services with fiber connectivity which is based on point-to-point high capacity channels for full duplex, synchronous optical transmission of digital data on SONET standard rates between 155.52 Mbps (OS-3) and 4.488 Gbps (OC-48).  Our connection is terminated at the Time WarnerŽ POP, which is connected to the Time WarnerŽ Telecom Internet backbone at 90 Mbps. There are two DS3 connections - one from San Antonio to Austin and one from San Antonio to Houston to ensure reliable service.  We can handle the bandwidth requirements of any and all clients.

YOUR DATA is your data, always!  You should and can have it wherever and whenever in an electronically readable format - no additional charges!  Don't put yourself in a position where a vendor can hold your information hostage by charging unreasonable rates for simple exports or extracts - we see this everywhere and this is an extremely sore spot for us.  We are also directly and completely responsible for all aspects of server-side disaster recovery - note that we retain the last seven (7) days onsite.  While our Dell Server Farm uptime approaches 99.999%, it is also comforting to realize that we can completely restore your production environment within 24 hours anywhere in the world.  This facilitates an easy-on easy-off process.
