Automatic Voice Notification (AVN) Benefit.
In Texas, cities and counties that exceed a certain population are required to implement an Office of Court Administration (OCA) approved internal collections program model or risk significant revenue loss. They are audited by both the OCA and the Texas Comptroller. Failing to comply with Senate Bill 1863 mandate jeopardizes their local retention of fees and state monies collected. One important compliance aspect that is routinely audited - the documented outbound call requirement.
Experience has taught us that outbound calls significantly improve compliance and substantially increases collections. Whether mandated or not, we strongly encourage our clients to implement automated reminder calls for impending scheduled payments and/or follow-up calls on missed payments. It is more likely than not that your defendants, respondents, and other defendants have access to a cellular phone with a consistent phone number.
Depending on your AVN service provider, call results may be automatically imported, logged, and reported on as due diligence events. You can discover whether the phone number was invalid or valid, whether it was answered by a human or machine, was the entire call listened to or hung up early.
